What is the best way to “decouple” an iOS device from an Apple account without creating a whole new account? I’d like to only have access to my App Store purchases and disable pretty much all of the other ‘cloud’ and social stuff.
I recently got an iPad Air (gen 1) and intend to use it purely for light web browsing and reading PDFs. I mainly do not want my personal messages/contacts/emails/safari browsing history or even passwords being synced to this device but I do want access to the apps I have already purchased. I know it sounds trivial but there are too many nooks and crannies in iOS now for settings to hide
I plan to keep this iPad as a beater device in my backpack so if it gets lost or stolen (or more likely I hand it to a friend
), I do not want to worry about *all* of my data being at risk (even though I set up a 6 digit alphanumeric password).
