Help Disable Edge

I NEED TO DISABLE EDGE AND DOBODY SEEEMS TO WANT TO HELP WITH PREVIOUS POSTS. Does anyone know how to make the EDGE menu with APN reappear in the Network menu. It is not there on mine therefore I cannot disable. I am using a 2G iPhone in Canada on Fido. Could someone please explain simply how to disable EDGE. Thank you.

you can install a program to disable edge. i tried it, works perfectly

Is this safe? Is there any chance the phone or sim could bypass this and connect to EDGE ? Are there any additional safeguards? I have no data plan so if it gets onto the EDGE network I'm screwed.

Use Pwnage, and then download BossPrefs via Cydia, that program is really good

Since you don't want to use any data, make sure you have your phone on wifi. It may even be a good idea to disable edge first, just to be safe.
