So one of my kids dropped my 13" MBA on the tile bathroom floor. All seems to be fine electronically, the only damage I can detect is the exterior of the top of the case, the part that flips open. The screen is fine but the exterior is scratched and there is a slight dent on one of the corners. Does anyone have an idea if this can be replaced? If so how much do you think it will be?

Hey! That's why you never let clumsy and young kids touch expensive pieces of tech. I'm 13 and never ever dropped my laptop
Sounds very lucky. The MBA must be pretty tough to withstand that sort of a drop.
If its just a dent, I wouldn't worry about it. Some credit cards have insurance for the first 30-90 days against damage from dropping etc.
Someone else said that to replace the screen they were quoted $500+. Not worth it for a dent.
I think the entire lid/lcd needs to be replaced. It would be too expensive esp. since you have option 2 available.
option 1: try and forget about it. If it is strictly cosmetic then try and live with it.
option 2: sell it on craigslist or ebay. you'll probably still get a lot for it. It may be worth the $100 or $150 hit to sell this one and get a new one. There have been a few sales recently so you may even find the replacement at a lower price than your first one.

Prob a good 3-3.5ft drop. I'm extremely lucky it's not worse. I hesitantly opened it, expecting a cracked screen. I was amazed that it was in perfect working order. The lid has minor scratches and the corner dent, of course. I thought about and may still contact my credit card company. But really it's only cosmetic and I guess I'll live with. Lesson learned "kids, stay away". Really just sucks though that's it less than a month old and my stuff is generally well kept for.
If the screen itself isn't broken, then consider having Apple estimate a repair on the cover. It might not be the full price of replacing the entire screen. In any case, I'm guessing that over time, things might get inside the lid and do damage, so it might not be a bad idea to have it checked out if there are any gaps, however minor, in the lid.
