i have a jpg image of a family tree chart. i have, using preview, been able to insert all pertinent data.. successfully!

TREE Blank form adj pix size.jpg

my problem now is trying insert an OVALpng image of the baby into that same file....right over the cluster of birds close to top of tree right in next of birds. I can insert a rectangle or square but want a nice oval.
baby in chart.png

without buying an app...is there a way to do this at all with apps free or that come with OS10 for my Macbook air
..don't know if i need to have files in a particular format (.png),
..have tried dragging, copy/paste, insert but nothing seems to work.

I have tried keynote but not having used it that much could not figure out a way.

hope someone has a few ideas i can play with.
thnx

In Preview, open the baby pic. Click on the toolbox. Click and hold the Selection box (on the left) and change it to
Elliptical Selection. Make an elliptical selection of the baby pic and paste that onto the tree pic.
