Hey how do you eject the xp cd in the installation to put 98 in and then put xp disk back in??? I have a mbp 2.33. Is there a foce eject.

There is no way to eject the disk during an XP upgrade installation. The only way to successfully carry out the upgrade style install is with the use of an external CD drive connected to the MBP with the 98 disk in it.

But, if you end up stuck during installation, holding down the mouse/trackpad button during boot will software-force-eject and let you find a full version of xp sp2.

In general a CD or DVD can be ejected on a Mac (MacBook) using the physical eject button or from the finder without any problems, but occasionally this don’t work and the disc icon might disappear from your Desktop and you can’t get the disc out of your computer. However, there is a trick you can try to extract the stuck disc.

* Restart your Mac
* After you hear the startup chime, press and hold your mouse/trackpad button
* After a minute or so and you think nothing is gonna happen the disc ejects
* Release the button once the disc ejects
