Hi all,
I tried searching but wasn't able to find a solution to my problem. I just bought a refurbished Mac Pro 5,1 and swapped the 2.8GHz Quad for a 3.33GHz Hex and now my fan speeds are going crazy because of the CPU A, Core 0 reading.
I'm not sure what to do since I've spend the past few days researching a solution:
I'm hesitant to take it into a store with a Genius since I swapped the CPU myself, but I may end up having to. Does anybody think the CPU A, Core 0 reading could be due to the Thermal Compound needing a break-in period? There's no way the computer should be sounding this loud just sitting idle.
I greatly appreciate any help! I'm really frustrated since I've spent so much on the machine already

- I've tried reapplying Thermal Compound but that didn't make a change.
- I've tried checking all the sensors and everything is reading "normal"
- I tried the SMC/NVRAM reset, but it did not change anything.
