Help - File (porn) Download Problem

Hi,

I have a macbook and am operating OSx 10.6.8...I use Safari (and have for a while)

For years I've been able to download just about anything from the web. Normally I would open a file to download - then just click on Safari's WINDOW ...then ACTIVITY. I would then hunt for the file being downloaded in the list and double-click on that file and it and would automatically download to my desktop.

Now when I go through the same routine up pops a new "black page" with an un-named video player that simply plays the file on that page....I get no download to my mac.

I'm out of the country for a while so I recently I have stated to use BitTorrent and also I downloaded VLC to play some movies and TV shows.

I think this "black page" downloading change happened right around after I installed those two programs.

Any help to get my porn to be able to download would be appreciated.

I am sure you are quite correct.
It's not even as if there are any particularly salacious details… could have been any old spreadsheet file.

Surely downloading porn is also pretty outdated?
Streaming is where it is at… so I am told.

arkitect: You're right...streaming is the way to go. My issues are I spend about 7 mos every year out of the country where bandwidth is such that downloading even an email or this page can take 3-5 minutes. So taking my porn with me is sometimes the only way to go for me.

I love this site. I'm computer clueless most times... the support I always get on this site when I need something for my mac makes me so glad I converted from Windows 5 years ago. You know what they say, "Once you go Mac...."

Mac users are the best....a very cool community. Thanks for all the help here.

So taking my porn with me is sometimes the only way to go for me.

Just a word of advice. Crossing borders with a laptop loaded with porn is not completely free of hazard. Some countries get pretty uptight about these things. Not that I am implying you don't know that, of course.
