I have a friend in need of a charger for an iPod Touch, 4th generation.

According to Wikipedia, the 4th generation iPod Touch has a 30-pin dock connector. This listing on the Apple Store appears to be what we need, but it is "sold out" there, for obvious reasons -- very few people have a need for it anymore.

I see some products on Amazon, listed below, that are probably what we need, but I'm wary about buying electronics with "unknown-to-me" brands from Amazon. I probably wouldn't mind trying one of these if it were my iPod Touch, but this is for a special family, and I don't want an unreliable charger to fry their device.

On Amazon:
Does anyone know of a trustworthy company producing and selling chargers of this type?

Here's a Belkin brand one sold at Office Depot:
Belkin generally has a good reputation for cables, right?

Apple only ran out of the 30-pin cables in the last few months, surprisingly - my guess is they decided 10 years since discontinuing the last 30-pin products was long enough.

The Belkin one would be fine.

@Grumpus Have you had good experiences with Elite Obsolete Electronics in recent years?
Yes, my experiences have been good. They're slow to respond to email queries, but I think it's more-or-less a one or two man operation, so that's understandable. When I purchased parts from them to flash-mod my 4th gen classic, I received everything in a reasonable amount of time, well packed, and everything was as advertised. I later bought a new back for the classic, and it was the same story. YMMV, of course, but I personally wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.
