I’m looking at moving from an iPhone due to my signal being complete trash lately and when I tested a Pixel 2 my signal worked well. However, I can’t use phones with LED due to headaches/eye strain from PWM. That said, I am looking for a high-end Android phone with the following:

LCD screen
Fast charging
4x4 MIMO / 256 QAM support
Headphone port
Fingerprint reader
Monthly security updates
Reasonable timeframe on OS updates
Works on Verizon

From my research it seems a good choice is the LG G7 ThinQ but I’m not sure how well LG does with their security/OS updates.

Are there any other phones I should consider given my requirements?

Unless you get a pixel phone, updates are always going to be slower. You will get major OS updates but it will be months after they have been pushed to pixel phones. Security updates are hit and miss. Some months they will come on time and sometimes you will be stuck on a patch which is a few months out of date. It depends on how important that stuff is to you.

I agree though LG is your best shot for a high end phone with an LCD display.

I have the LG G7 ThinQ (I never say ThinQ, so just call it a G7 ;) ) and the OnePlus 6. I would recommend both. I go between both as my daily drivers but tend to use the OP 6 more often. The G7 won't get many updates and the OP6 should get them for at least a year or 2. Both have their pros/cons but have been great phones to use IMO. The other recommendation would be the Galaxy S9 but I prefer the G7 and OP6 over it.

EDIT. I misread your post... so the 6 is out due to the AMOLED. Go with the G7, it's a great phone!

Thanks! Based on my research I assumed that the G7 was the best choice for me. Now I’ll wait until it goes on sale before picking it up.
