HELP-first time ebay buyer and user of paypal

I just bought a tibook off ebay from someone who had great feedback. I had just setup my paypal account a few days before and had it verified to my bank account. When I hit buy it now on the tibook, my paypal payed for the item, but I had $0 on my paypal account. Does that mean that it took it automatically from my bank account? That's what I'm hoping for, but I just checked (1 minute after my purchase) and my bank account hasn't had any withdrawals. Thanks!
 
If you log in to PayPal, it should tell you if there's been a transaction on your account. Your balance will say $0.00, but it'll say the amount taken from your account, and the amount sent to the seller. If there's no transactions in your history, you probably didn't send any money.

Wait a few days, though, sometimes the online balance doesn't reflect your real balance for a while on the banks page.
 
Oh ok. It said that I had payed the seller and that there was the same amount from my bank account, but my balance is still $0. I hope that means I've payed him and it will show up in my bank account soon. Thank you!

i'll take up to 2 working days for the PayPal transcation to show on your bank account (online), depends on which country are you in.

IMO your Paypal balance will always remain zero. You make a payment using your bank balance. Paypal will always show you two transactions. One, which gets the money out your Bank and other which pays the buyer. So the end result will always be zero. If you dont see those two transaction on first page of your paypal login page, then IMO payment has not been made. Or there is a chance that for some reason it`s taking some time and will show up in a couple of days. Send Paypal a mail and they`ll definitely help you.
 
I guess I've made a payment then. Since it withdrew it from my bank account, that is an echeck right?

Nope, eCheck is a different kind of payment. Usually for items paid through ebay checkout it is the normal payment for ebay goods.
