hey all..

I am wanting a new mac to use as a desktop but i dont know which one i want, imac, mac mini or pro...what i really want to use it for is for some of my windows apps. and jus a normal computer to use everyday things on..but the thing is i want alotta space on it and should i wait for like leopard or see the 23 inch imac? or what? because i can wait, but its all good

thanks

for everyday things, i'd reccommend an iMac or a Mac Mini,

What kind of "space" are you talking about? hard disk space? screen space?

Well it depends, If you want a hugeeeeee screen then id wait see if a 23inch iMac develops. But a 20inch one is large enough (I'd say, personally) and the iMac has more than enough of the power you'll need, but the general consensus is to wait till at least the 12th of September as there is rumored to me some product announcements.

Either that, or go with the higher end Mac Mini and get a Dell 20+ inch. Bit more expensive mind (Here in the UK it would be anyway)

As for large ammounts of storage goes, the best way is to get the largest internal HDD you can afford, and go with firewire/USB 2.0 external drives, as the Mac Mini uses the rather more expensive 2.5inch lappy drives. As for the iMac, you can get large ones internally.

Either way, wait till the back end of the month... :)

iMac is probably the best bet. If you mean HD space you can get a 500GB which is probably plenty. You should at least wait til they update it sicne they should soon. It it's not a big deal you may even want to wait until next year when Leopard is out since they'll probably update again around that time and you'll save $210 by not having to pay for iLife '07 or Leopard.

I say, get an iMac now and don't wait for Leopard! just purchase it when it comes out and install it. :) by the looks of it, you don't need a Pro and the iMac is perfect... unless you want to save money by using your own keyboard and monitor while purchasing the Mini.

thanks guys..by space i was talking about hard drive space...i jus want alot with a nice computer and where is the 500gb at? where can i get that?

but i think i am goin for next year and waitin for leopard..cuz id rather waste the money at one time and get everything..

You can upgrade the HDD in the iMac to 500GB when you configure it.
