I just bought Cod4 last night for my new macbook 13" i bought two weeks ago. I have 2 GB of RAM and Nvidea Geforce 320M graphics card. I'm using the option "optimal system settings" and still I encounter lag or freezing when playing single and multiplayer. Is there anything I can do to improve how the game runs? i'm not sure if its just lag or just freezing because everyone else on the servers usually has no lag, which leads me to believe its something wrong with my system. Tips?

First of all, if you have the new 13 MBP, it comes with 4 GB RAM standard.

Second, are you running on OSX or under windows bootcamp? I haven't played COD4 on OSX, but on Windows, it runs fine with medium settings. It's a bit choppy during big battles but nothing unmanageable. I turned off anti-aliasing and it seems to have sped things up slightly. I also have a 2010 13 MBP.

It's not MBP it's just the regular Macbook. I'm also running it on the OS.

Try the lowest possible settings and work your way up until it lags it should play well with the new graphics card.

What exactly are the lowest possible settings?

Should the texture setting be auto bilinear or trilinear?

I also have all the other texture options turned to low.

Most of the graphics options are either low or off.

Does the video mode matter though?
