When selling a cellular iPad, can the new owner activate it on whatever network they want with the current SIM card, or do they need to now get a new SIM card for the carrier they want?

I plan on selling my old iPad Air 2 which is currently on a prepaid Sprint plan.

I know I have to erase the iPad before I sell it.

Is there anything else I should do?

Thanks

I do not believe that SIM cards can be re-used, and the new owner would need to get a SIM card from their data provider.
