UPDATED RESULTS

Hi guys,

Are any of you Owners of the new Mac Pro willing to render a template of mine?
- 1 After Effects Template
- 1 Apple Motion 5 Template

All is ready to render and ill send the templates with a small video tutorial on what to do (very simple).

Im trying to decide if its woth it or not jumping to the nMP.

What i Do?

- 80% of my time is in After Effects and i use my PC for that (I7 4770K, 32GB Ram, 250GB SSD, 2xHDD Import/Cache and Export, GTX 760)

- Now last year i bought my 1st Mac (Mac mini Late 2012 I7 2,3Ghz 16GB Ram) so that i could start working with Apple Motion 5. I went with the most affordable solution at the time because i didnt knew if i would like OSX, Motion 5 and if it didnt then my investment loss would not be too much.

1 Year later i love OSX :) and im enjoying a lot working with Motion 5, more limited than AE but for us content creators there's a market for it. Oh and i tried FCPX about 3 months ago and im loving the simplicity of it :)

- I also do some video editing in Premiere but not that much and only 1080p.

- Now the Mac mini is not enough anymore. Specially because the lack of dedicated GPU. Theres a particular template that i created and ive been using for benchmarking diferent systems to see what my best investment will be takes to render, just because my mini struggled really hard with this one.

The Imac would be a great investment, but i really hate the fact that the screen is "onboard", i have a nice triple display 1x27" + 2x24"

So im willing to go to the next level, but only if performance wise its advantage for me. In that case ill get a nMP and will ditch the PC and the Mac mini.

I will really appreciate if any one can help me out, and if so please send a message or post here so i can contact you and send the templates.

PS: Preferably nMP 6 core, D300/D500 but will accept any config and with the results i will make the math :)

PS1: I will wait till sep/oct to make the decision (hope on super duper Mac mini) (Just dreaming)

PSS2: Please dont advise on hackintosh, ive tried it and didnt like, altough it works i dont find it safe and i use my pc to deliver work so no (with all due respect to "hackintoshers" out there.

PSSS3: Sorry for the really long text.

Thanks
RJ

I can render the AE on my nMP 6c 64GB ram D500.

I don't have Motion though.

Hi Snouter and thanks for your time, i already sent a pm containing the link to download the template. Once i have the result ill update the post so that it can help others aswell that might be in the same position as i am.

Thanks
RJ

These times would be much more meaningful if we knew more about the template. How many layers? Video? Effects? Render settings? Etc.

Hi, yes you got a point there :) Initially i was asking help just for myself but with all the info that ive been gathering i tought it could be usefull to others, and in that way you are completely right.

Although i cannot release the template for public because its a commercial template i will post the details and previews below:

AE Template - Dramatic Filmstrip Photos
- Preview @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MRxQgBnUDg

Details:
- 10 Scenes (each with 10 seconds)
- Each Scene contains 8 to 30 Compositions / lights / camera / adjustment layers.
- Each Composition contains 1 to 4 pics
- No external plugins
- Basic effects like Motion Blur, Fast Blur, Drop Shadow.

Motion 5 Template - Photo Slideshow II
- Preview @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIwwem4OwdY

Details:
- 16 Scenes / Transitions
- Each Scene contains 2 to 10 masks applied to each photo
- Each photo has a pan / zoom effect
- Motion Blur (This is a basic effect in AE but in Motion 5 it really pushes the GPU)

- Templates are rendered in QT H.264, 1080p max quality.

Thanks for your question.
Best Regards
RJ
