My hard drive randomly is spazzing. My while macbook froze, and hd is makin a workin sound then a thud. Now it doesnt get past the start up grey apple screen, and i saw a grey delete symbol, like circle with slash, replace the apple symbol for a split second......what the hell is happening

You can run Disk Utility from the Install DVD. See if it at least sees the device. It might not be able to mount it, but if the drive and volume show up, you might be able to repair it.
i.e. repair it long enough to get your stuff backed up. If the drive was making a clicking sound, it might be dying. Some drives make a soft "clunk" sound when the head unloads for drive sleep. Hopefully, that was the sound you heard.

do you have 3rd party RAM you could take out? I'm not sure if it's necessary, but it couldn't hurt...
im running disc utility, and it recogonizes the hd, but when it starts reparing disc, it stops after about 10 second, on the third thing( im running between computer so its kinda tough to remember some things)and begins making the little reving then tiny double tap, kinda like droping a pencil point on a table. It just keeps doing that. I dont have any 3rd party ram, only apple 512 total. need more, but thats besides the point....
update: repair failed, invalid node structure.... any ideas

You can buy and run DiskWarrior, which may fix the node problem. It's the best utility for repairing problems with logical volume structures.

yea i should have thought of the title a little bit better, but im in a bit of a panic, becuase I have alot of school stuff that will kill my grade if i cannot get it off.
I have Data rescue which seems pretty good, especially if i just have to get my stuff off....only thing is, how do i get the osx install disc out of the macbook, the eject button is not functioning!

data rescue did not work, it starts to scan and the hd just starts to make the rev and dink sounds, and it does not find anything, it just keeps scanning. I am really fustrated, and i have no time to waste with documents that are due friday and thursday. I guess im going to have to bring it to the applestore and try and get them to fix it before then, which i doubt will happen.
It sounds like your hard drive is mechanically broken. You may have some chance of getting parts of your data off it using another Mac and target disk mode. Then you'll have to replace the drive. If it's under warranty, Apple can do it, if not, then you or a service center can. It's very easy to replace the drive on a MacBook if I remember correctly.
It's under warranty for sure though, if its a macbook. They werent even being sold a year ago. Man I hate hard drives, they always die.
Yep, I have a nice collection of failed drives.
The key is to back up your data often just in case your HD goes south!

Unfortunately, it usually takes this major loss to motivate most folks to complete routine backups.
fixed, apple store fixed it in one day and was able to get most of my data somehow....new problem though, i accidently barely inserted a disc before my macbook was completly booted and through the weried cd drive sound. THat was a few weeks ago, and it was working fire, now discs will not go all the way in when they get taken in, and it is hard as hell to put them in. I guess i just have to bring it in. This is the second time i did this. I didnt think just touching the outside of the disc drive before it was totally done would do anything. I was wrong, has this happened to anyone else.
I figured out why my cd drive is so rough. For some reason, my top case above the cd drive is popping up and is not attached completly. When i stick my nails under the top case and lift a bit, the cd drive is smooth. When i push the case flat, it is rough. Has this happened to anyone else....
