Hello,

Yesterday I put my entire 47 GB of music/video on my external because I ran out of space (or was running out of space) on my macbook 2.4 ghz, 4 gb of Ram. I followed the instructions using the system preferences, and consolidated my library, and it worked!
So, I was starting to delete my entire catalog of music and then stopped. hooked up my ipod (classic 80gb) and the music i deleted was not on my ipod. I did have my external still hooked to my macbook.

How can i hook up ipod to sync new music and podcasts and have my "entire" library still on my ipod?

does this make sense?

thanks so much.

Dan

maybe you have to fiddle around with Settings > Advanced tab > iTunes Media Folder Location so that it's new source is your external??

Settings?

I am not sure where settings>advanced tab is?

are you talking system preferences>advanced?

still don't know how to do this

Thanks for the idea!
