My drive on my iMac failed and I don't have a back of my most recent photos. However most of them are on my iPad and iPhone.

Anyone have any ideas how I can transfer the photos from my iPad and iPhone back to my new Mac?

I know there is a transfer application that might do a few at a time but I have 100's of photos on my devices.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What I need is an application that will let me transfer from the iPad, not jus the camera roll but the events etc...

As someone who went through this recently myself, there wasn't a way that I could find to recover the meta-data. Hell, even Image Capture didn't recover the files, I had to purchase a third party program to get the pictures back. The whole thing kinda blows.

They might be stored in an itunes backup. Otherwise, jailbreak and ssh in and download it.

May I ask? Why didn't you have a time machine backup drive? Apple makes it so simple to back up your stuff

What third party app did you purchase?

I lost the whole computer and there is a gap between the last backup and a move etc.

Not sure how to jailbreak.

Download a free 30 day trial of Lightroom 3 and let it take care of the import. A few months ago I moved something like 50 GB's of images and 1080p video from my iPad to my MBP using this. I could not get IC or iPhoto to work in a stable manner.
