i dunno where to ask this so if this is wrong just please help. I just got my first macbook pro and first mac. So i am kinda frustrated right now. How do i install aim. I try to and it downloads instantly says aim.bin and tries to open up in stuffit expander and i cant change it, what do iuse to open it, please help. Thanks

Stuffit Expander will extract the .bin file, just like unzipping a .zip file in Windows. Once extracted, the app or installer package will be in there.

As an aside, the Mac comes with iChatAV preinstalled, which is fully AIM compatible (just enter your AIM client info), and is designed to work with the iSight camera built in the the MBP, should you want a seamless video chat.

You can also download Adium (http://www.adiumx.com/), also fully AIM-compliant, which is a huge favorite around here.

Welcome to the club!

use adium instead of the AIM off aol. It is much better and the AIM off aol hasn't been updated in a while..

This post will be redundant but...

Step 1: Toss aim.bin in the trash
Step 2: Open iChat instead
—OR—
Step 2b: Download AdiumX instead

:)

Adium is by far the best IM client I've ever used on any OS.

Just download the .dmg from adiumx.com, mount it, and then drag adium.app into your applications folder.
