Hello everyone,

I am sorry if this has been posted before.
I have a 2.5'' hard drive that was used on my Macbook pro, and I have installed Snow leopard with all my content there.

If I buy a new iMac and connect the 2.5" hard disk as external hard drive(via sata connection) will I be able to migrate my files completely?
I don't mind about the OS, but will I be able to read the external drive and pick up my documents?(in windows, it doesn't work since it's a Journal formatted HD)

Thanks in advance!

Yea, it'll work. You can use Migration Assistant to transfer all your files and settings if you want so.

Similar question...I am going from an 06 20" iMac to a 27 incher. Is all I have to do is connect both with a firewire cable, and just use Migration assistant?

Yes, just put the 20" in target disk mode by pressing and holding T after the boot tone.

Cheers,
