how do i create a "movie film" frame around my pictures

whether its something very specific like this kodak frame

or something very generic like this:

pls help thanks and if anyone knows of a better forum to go and ask these questions pls let me know thanks

1. Find a file with that film frame.

2. Put your image on the layer below or above.

3. If the size doesn't fit, you can use the Free Transform Tool. If the difference is a big one, you should uprez the file first to meet the other file's dimensions. As there is not a lot of detail, uprezing shouldn't be a problem.

4. Create a mask on any of the two layers (frame or image) that defines where the frame ends, and where the image shows.

This is for one image, and one film strip frame. With several images you just need to adjust, but the process is the same.

just two questions...

when i try to use the free transform tool it is greyed out and wont let me click...

also what is the purpose of a mask layer?

Did you make a selection before using the Free Transform Tool?

That's what you have to do first, or there would be nothing to transform.
