I recently had to format my computer and did not back up any of my itunes music library xml file. Now I have a fresh copy of iTunes installed and would like to connect my iPhone to transfer songs that I did not buy through iTunes to it but I can't.

What are my options? Is there a way to make this new iTunes copy authorize to work with my iPhone? I would rather not format my phone.

Thanks for any help.

Do you want to transfer your songs from the iPhone to the computer??

If you are a mac user, you can try "Pod to Mac" - it its freeware, where Senuti are shareware, where you can only transfer 1000 songs before you have to buy!

Try the software mentioned above.

Incidentally even if you hadn't deleted the xml file you wouldn't have been able to transfer the songs back. Apart from purchased music iTunes is a one way street. You can only transfer from the computer to the iPhone/iPod

Good call... Pod to Mac is a better choice.
