I was trying to open an older disk on mavericks. I can’t see it. I recalled that there was a trick. So I restarted under a test SSD I set up with Catalina. Now I can’t find my Big Sur SSD to restart under my home main OS. Help. I’m sure it’s a simple solution but I ding remember what it is!

Does the Big Sur SSD appear in the Option/Bootpicker screen when you restart, holding the Option key?

I’ll try that. It doesn’t appear. But I’ll try the option key. Right now I’m updating Catalina. If I need to I’ll upgrade this to Monterey since this was designed to be my test drive.

Damn it. It’s me again with the same problem. Now I’m going from Catalina back to Monterey. Mac Pro (2019). I had to find something on the Catalina SSD. Now I can’t see the home Monterey SSD. I’m holding option on restart but I’m not seeing anything. Help.

I got it. I knew I would. I wasn’t waiting for the Apple splash screen. Whew.
