Help!!! Ichat is driving me insane!

since i installed 10.3.2 my ichat has been acting up. it constantly wont let me send messages because im sending too quickly so it wants me to wait. I am not typing too fast, i does this even if it is the very first IM!!! DAMMIT! this is making me crazy.
does any one of you smart mac people know what the problem is and how to fix it, while still letting me use ichat?

Have you been warned lately? Sign onto AOL's AIM software, and check your warning level. When you're warned, there's a delay before you can send an IM. That's probably not your problem, but it's the only thing I could think of.
