HELP icloud/contacts

So i never really bothered much with icloud i new it backed up now an again and that was it. today i've lost all my contacts, cant find any contacts on my phone at all.
I can see them on the icloud website on my laptop but how can i get them from the website to myphone??

Do you have Contacts turned on in your iCloud account on your phone? If not, turn it on and you should see on your phone the contacts that you see on the website. If you do have it on, try turning it off and back on.

Ok cool, i now have contacts back on my phone under icloud.. is there a way to if you go in the contacts app put them "all on my iphone"

I realise it probably doesnt make any difference but its just how i'm comfortable.

You'd have to turn off Contacts on your iCloud account. Upon doing so, you should be prompted to choose between keeping the contacts that were previously on your iCloud account just on your iPhone or deleting them. Select the one you want and that should do it. Of course, your contacts will no longer be synced between devices and the website.

Hmm well somethings not working.. as things stand right now i have 0 contacts at all on my phone.

They are on the website and contacts in icloud is still turned on.

there seems to be a problem somewhere in iOS5 with contacts syncing.

the iPhone and iPad don't seem to work with mac book pro address book.
moreover i had many issues with iCloud syncing.

i hope they come out with an update soon to solve these problems.

You can restore your contacts on your iMac with Time Machine.
