hi,

first post and any help would be greatly appriciated.

ive got a mac tower Dual 2 Ghz PowerPC G5 and run Version 10.4.9.

my question is, ive seen on other posts that some people have managed to play many pcs only games such as Dawn of War (one i wouldnt mind playing) however im abit fuzzy on how i would go about doing this.

generally i just play WOW because its released on mac but in regards to playing pc games im clueless.

many thanks for your help ( hopefully :D )

You've probably read about these games being played on a newer Mac with Intel chips running Windows. With a G5 chip, you have no effective option to run Windows.

It might be that the other posts you've seen are people with Intel-based Macs – these can be run Windows (and therefore Windows software) through Bootcamp. Unfortunately, as your Mac is a G5 you can't run Bootcamp on it. You could run an application like Virtual PC which would let you run PC-only games on your Mac, but apparently the performance leaves a lot to be desired to say the least.

Yes, unfortunately you're using a PPC machine, which can't run Windows and so can't run many games.

I wouldn't worry, though. Apart from WoW, a console for gaming is all you'll ever really need. Your dual-G5 will be great for everything else.
