Ok so I'm not really that old or smell like cheese. Since I have your attention though and your here, I wanted to ask some of you experienced iPaders a question. During my times at BB playing with the iPad, I feel quite awkward typing on the device. It isn't the iPad's fault, it the way the glass feels. I am used to when typing, the keys pushing down and that's how I know I have typed that key. Am I just getting old or does everyone feel a bit awkward? I just can't seem to get the hang of typing on a glass screen. Is this something that changes with time?

It'll depend on how much you use the device and exactly what you're thinking of using it for. For certain tasks I imagine a regular keyboard will be more useful for some time. Remember you can use a BT keyboard.

I like cheese.

It takes some getting used to, but you don't even thing about it after a while.

Dude, I like cheese too!:D

I'm totally used to it. I've had an iPhone for over 2 years though, so it didn't take me long to adapt.

I actually find it really easy to type with my two thumbs while I'm holding the iPad in portrait.

I read somewhere that the best thing to do is type with three fingers. Is that really better? To me it felt weird to be touching the screen and not get that keys pushing down effect. I had to keep watching to keyboard to make sure I was hitting what I thought I was.

This has to be easier to get used to than typing with one hand. CHEESE!:D

I've used it in class typing full lecture notes before. If you touch type you have some sort of muscle memory where the keys are it's weird not having a physical button but you quickly get over it. Also the iPads spell-check fixes any one-off key mistakes you might make.

Yeah, I'm a thumb typer as well. I can type pretty fast on the iPhone but I thought with the iPad I could finally use some finger action. :D

I type normally, except that I do only use 3 fingers on my right hand. But if you've ever typed on an iPhone or iPod touch, then the transition is almost seamless. The dictionary and auto correct help, too. Basically, if you type with the attitude of "meh, close enough" you'll be just fine. If you were to type "tht", it'd get turned into "that". You don't have to worry about contractions, capitalizing the I's, etc. I type almost the exact same speed as I do on a normal keyboard.
