Help importing into Mail.app

Need a little help importing into Mail.app (in Tiger).

The e-mails were originally in Eudora on my old PC; I've been able to convert them to .eml files and also to what I thought were valid .mbox files on my Mac. I'm able to view the e-mails normally in Thunderbird and Mailsmith, yet when I try to export them from those programs, Mail.app won't recognize the .mbox files -- they're grayed out in the import wizard.

Suggestions?

Not sure if this fits your situation, but you may need a 3rd party application called Eudora Milbox cleaner.
