Hi, I've got a dilemma and question which i hope experts here can help. Assuming 2 scenarios:

Scenario 1:

iMac old version:
• 24-inch widescreen LCD display
• 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
• 4GB of 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
• ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO 256MB
• 320GB SATA HD 7200rpm

Price: $2298 SGD

Scenario 2:
iMac NEW version:
• 24-inch widescreen LCD display
• 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
• 4GB of 1067 MHz DDR3 SDRAM
• NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
• 640GB SATA HD 7200rpm

Price: $2448 SGD

So my question is, which one will you get? noting the diff which is speed, type of ram, graphics card and harddisk. My more impt factor is the graphics card. Is the new Nvidia 9400m better than the old ATI card?

Not sure which to get... how to balance with the new machine with the price....

My assesment is that... the diff is about $100 or even equal if i upgrade the old model to 4gb ram. So, is the ~$100 diff justifiable to get the old one cos its $100 cheaper but get a better graphics card? Or pay $100 more to get the new model with a bit slower CPU, lousier graphics card but double the hard disk and DDR3 ram compared to DDR2.

I cant balance the pros and cons le.... Pls advise.....

Please advise.... Thanks.

Depends on what you want to do with the new Mac. If you are thinking about games the ATI2600 is much better! I bought a Windows machine for games and just went with a mini since I have plenty of big monitors. If I had the money I would have purchased the 2.93 iMac and upgraded it with the ATI 4850.

Cheers,
