hello!!

so i have the creative suite 3 design premium. i installed PS CS3 by itself a while ago, and now i would like to install InDesign. i insert the disc and eventually it gets to a point in the installation where it asks me to insert the Photoshop Elements 6 disc. What???? i used to have PSE6, but i downloaded it so no disc, and i uninstalled it anyway. so basically it's not letting me install InDesign because it wants me to insert a PSE6 disc which i never had, and that program is not even installed on my iMac. this is extremely frustrating. can someone please help??

TIA!!

i had a similar problem recently, i have cs3 master collection and downloaded the flash cs4 trial. something happened to my acrobat professional and needed to reinstall, tried to reinstall and it came up saying insert flash cs4 media, which i didnt have. what i found out you have to do is mount the setup file (dmg) so you need to find/download the photoshop elements dmg again and mount that when it asks for the disc. annoyingly it will keep wanting to alternate between the cs3 disc and the elements file so be patient. give it a try. any problems just post back

thanks for the reply! so since i uninstalled PSE6 i don't have the dmg file anymore and now PSE7 is out so I don't think i can get to a download of PSE6 anymore. any suggestions??

edit: ok, i logged into the adobe site and can redownload the pse6 file. so, do i have to reinstall pse6? or what exactly do i have to do to mount the setup file when the indesign install is asking me to insert a disc?

thanks!

handy you can redownload it.
So you have the dmg sitting in the desktop.
When the adobe installed says insert photoshop elements either double click the file or open disk utility and drag into there and click mount.

cool. i will try that when it is finished downloading. so i don't have to reinstall pse6 first then? that's good, since i have ps cs3 installed! i'll give an update when it's ready. thanks for your help!

no need to install elements again. i have had issues installing adobe software before. a right pain. have even tried the likes of there clean up utilities and still have problems.

andy, you are the man! thank you so much. it's working now. though, talk about being a pain and not being intuitive! geez. thanks again!!

no problems, glad i can help. I only discovered it by accident, after searching for ages i just tried random things. i think adobe needs to spend some time coming up with a better help system.

I hope you can help me too. I had downloaded PSE 6, then decided to delete it. I just trashed it. Now I have to reinstall Acrobat from CS3, and it won't let me. I'm having the same issues. It wants the PSE6 disc, which I never had. I went back to Adobe to try to redownload it, but PSE8 is up there now. I found a program online that was supposed to uninstall PSE6 but it didn't work, and I still can't reinstall Acrobat.

HELP!

Thanks,
Carole
