Help installing Left 4 Dead via Crossover

Can anyone tell me how I can install Left 4 Dead 2 via crossover?

When I download Steam via crossover, it won't open, so I can't access it to install Left 4 dead.

Any ideas?

While crossover and cedega might do slot with wine they are still fundamentally flawed in some ways.

1 if your using a case sensitive file system your gona have to dual boot.

2 if your using cross over version 8 or older it might not be compatible with the new steam ui

3 if you did anything like a forced restart during install or it went to sleep you might need to make a new wine bottle (steam relies on some windows only tools in it's native version and wine doesn't always respect that during an unplanned shut down)

4 isn't a native mac version coming out soon anyway

Yes. I would suggest waiting a few weeks for this rather than trying to use CrossOver.

i dont think its coming anytime soon , its valve ,they take forever.

Its already been confirmed that L4D is coming to the mac next, I would just keep checking Steam on Wednesday's.

Deal with crossover support. Steam should work.

I couldn't get it to work in Crossover but it worked decently in Crossover Games.

But I'd wait a few weeks. It's not great in crossover, has some odd audio issues here, and it'll be much smoother ran natively I'm sure.
