Help installing ML on USB 3.0 drive

Hi, please bear with me here.

I recently got a new Mac mini 2012 for use as a htpc.

At first I did have ML and windows 7 installed using bootcamp. I then decided to have windows 7 only so deleted all the partitions and done a fresh install.

I have now fitted an ssd drive with only windows 7 on it.

So i thought it would be a good idea to install ML onto an external USB 3.0 drive using the original hard drive that came out of the mini, but of course there are no mac partitions on there any more. So I'm a bit confused about how best to do this.

I can't download ML via the mac store, and I don't have the recovery partition any more.

The reason I would still like to be able to run ML is because I understand if there are any further efi updates this has to be done in ML and can't be done via windows 7.

You could use Internet Recovery (CMD+R) to download and install Mac OS X onto the external USB HDD.
