Sorry for the complete newbie level question, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong while trying to install XCode 3.0.

I downloaded the XCode 3.0 DMG file and opened it. That gave me a an "XCode Tools" mount with 1 "About XCode" PDF, 2 "MPKG" files, 1 "PKG" file, and one "Packages" folder. So far, I've double-clicked the "XCodeTools.mpkg" file, which ran an installation program for about 4 minutes and then ended without appearing to change anything.

I don't see a new icon for launching XCode anywhere, so I'm not sure if I've done everything that is need to properly "install" XCode.

I'm brand new to Macs and OS X. I've had my Mac for about a week now and haven't installed anything other than Firefox. When Firefox was finished installing, it gave me a window to drag the Firefox icon into my Applications folder. This XCode installation doesn't seem to have done anything.

Nevermind, I think I may have this under control. Using Spotlight, I was able to find the XCode application icon and run the app. I've also got a dock shortcut established now.
