Just installed a jb app that mentioned something about "quick unlock". I cannot recall the exact title but anyway it seems to have totally killed my 3GS.

Tried all the tricks I know but nothing works. Only the Apple icon will appear on the screen for about 20 seconds. ITunes does not detect the phone so I can not reset/restore it.

If I try to recharge it, no battery icon appears.

PLEASE help with some suggestions!!

Jim

the dfu worked!!!! many thanks.

Jim

Now running 3.1.3 OS. Everything else restored except 3 jb apps (BAII Plus, HP 12C, and Jaadu RDP) which are iPhone "paid" apps. Not certain I want to reinstall jb just to get these apps free. iTunes is teling me to try the following in an attempt to restore these 3 apps.

Thanks again

Resolution
Check to see if the issue still occurs after performing each step:

Update your device software
Use iTunes to update to the latest version of the iPhone OS for your iPhone or iPod touch.

Deauthorize and reauthorize your computer
Before attempting these steps, transfer all iTunes Store and App Store content on the device to your computer. Then, use the following steps to deauthorize and reauthorize your computer:

Connect your device to a computer and open iTunes.
In iTunes, select your device in the left-hand column and then click the Applications tab. Verify that Sync Applications is checked.
Choose Store > Deauthorize Computer from the menu bar. Enter your iTunes Store account and password, and then click Deauthorize.
Click Sync in the lower-right to sync your device. When prompted, select Don't Authorize. This will remove all applications and other iTunes Store content from the device.
Note: You may see this prompt more than once. Select Don't Authorize each time.
When the sync is complete, choose Store > Authorize Computer from the menu bar. Enter your iTunes Store account and password, and then click Authorize.
Sync your applications and content from iTunes to the device.
Find more information about iTunes authorizations.

If they are App Store paid apps and you are saying you "get these apps free" then you are talking about cracked or pirated apps.

Such discussions not allowed here.

Nothing will mess your phone up faster than installing pirated apps.
