I had to restore my laptop to factory settings and when I next hooked my ipod up to it, it recognized the ipod but under the side bar devices everything was there except the apps icon.

Can anyone help me get it back? (In simple language).

I am running Windows Vista and as far as I know everything is updated to the most recent versions. Oh, and it is the ipod touch 4th generation.

You might need to restore your iPod and re-update it. That's your best option.

Do you know how to find my old itunes songs that I purchased prior to the reset on my laptop? I would hate to lose all my music.

Do you mean you have music on you iPod that you do not have on your iTunes Library?

Yes. Oh, but I can transfer from the ipod to my library right?

(Sorry I am not very computer or gadget literate)

Hi again, I have restored the iPod and still no apps icon. I have done a sync and everything loaded except the apps. Any other suggestions?
