Hi everybody,

its my first post here - thought i would give it a shot hence im having a huge problem that i cant seem to fix myself. A week ago i bought a 27" imac for my office instead of always working on my mbp. I bought 8gb kingston ram for it so that it came up to 12gb. But since i received it i keep getting kernel panics everyday where it tells me to shut of the machine and start it again. Its a huge problem as it doesnt save the work im doing.. :S

Below is the latest panic log:

Now - what can be the problem? is it the mix of original apple ram and kingston ram or what can it be - i dont understand the log above :)

Hope somebody can help me..

bad ram. pull it and it will stop.

either have it replaced or return it and buy ram from someplace else.

OWC, crucial, datamem.

Page faults usually wouldn't cause a kernel panic, unless it was an "invalid" page fault (seg fault) at the kernel level.

But it seems like a page in memory was missing altogether.

So I would have to agree that it's bad RAM.

Thank you for your replies.. Its brand new kingston ram for this specific model.. Im pissed of :) Will return it..

So from your replies im guessing that i shouldnt buy kingston ram?

There's nothing wrong in particular with Kingston RAM.

Anyone can get faulty RAM from any other manufacturer. Nothing unusual.
