Just set up my rmbp 3 days ago, and the login isn't taking my password. Tried resetting password through the appleid option.

Everytime I change the password (including changing my appleid password), this new password never works with the login.

Whats happening.

Shut down your computer. Then start it up while holding Command and R. Let it boot and choose your language or whatever it asks you. Then go to Utilities>Terminal and type in resetpassword. Select your hard drive and user and reset the password. Then reboot and type in your new password and it should work. Your keychain password will stay the same so that is a downside. I am not totally sure why the Apple ID reset password is not working for you, but this should work!

Cheers Mekul

Hi, thanks but with Firevault turned on, you don't get to access the utilities with Comm + R boot.
