M1 Macbook pro is powered up but will not charge. I have recently updated to sonoma 14.3 and now my M1 will not charge. I have started it in safe mode, done diagnostics, deleted and reinstaleed ventura all to no avail. Anyone here can help to understand what is wrong. Battery as 30 cycles and mac is one year and one month old and sees light use. Many thanks in advance for any help.
First up, To view your battery’s condition, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Battery. Also realise when you do that Mac batteries are now "smart charging" and will only charge when necessary to avoid depleting cycles.
Secondly, acesss diagnostics mode to check battery health
Apple Diagnostics, formerly known as Apple Hardware Test, can check your Mac for hardware issues.

Thirdly, check whether there is any dirt/debris in the charging port itself, then check the connection in both orientations. Sometimes you will get a a better connection in one orientation vs the other.
fourthly, I assume that the cable is fine, if not if it's frayed have it replaced.
Failing that do a PRAM reset.
Finally to do a full "SMC" reset by disconnecting the computer from power and wait for the battery to fully discharge then plug the computer back in. A full depletion of your battery will reset everything on your M1 Mac. They say a simple power down and reboot will fix it, but the longer fix is now draining the battery completely as there is no SMC reset button.
