Help mac keeps crashing

SO in recent weeks my mac will unexpectedly crash with a plain white screen, then it would stop at a black screen that says "no operating system found" and then i would have to do a hard restart. can anyone help please my model is a 2011 mac mini.

As always, make a backup of your information first if possible, but it shouldn't be necessary with just reinstalling the OS.

Go to Disk Utility. If you are running El Capitan, run First Aid. If you are using an older system, run Verify Disk. Also make a note of the S.M.A.R.T. status.
