Make an appointment at the genius bar of your Apple store. They will diagnose the problem for free. It may be something simple with the software.

If you take it in to an authorized repair store they will charge around $100.

Hope you have a time machine backup.

Thanks. I'm 700km from the nearest Apple Store. And yes. I have time machine.
