um... os x or os x server?

and could you use some periods and commas to break up your post? kind of hard to read/decypher...

so you're running two machines -- one w/ "normal" osx and the other w/ osx server?

how are you forwarding port requests to your respective machines?

Yes i am running 2 machines 1 with regular os x and another with os x server, and for the turning on and off procedures I just used sharing-services-ftp acces on/off for my regular os x and on the server I did server settings and I started up ftp. About the port requests to my respective machines I have no idea what you talking about I know what ports are but forwarding them to my respective machines I dont have a clue

if you've got ftp turned on, i'm assuming it's so you (and/or others) can ftp to/from your machine(s).

how do your machines talk to the internet? and do they talk to each other? if you've got them on a LAN and hook up to the internet via a router, the router would provide port mapping. i.e. if an ftp request comes into your router, it would route requests on that port (the ftp port is 23, iirc) to the osx machine serving the ftp requests.

it that how you've got it set up?
