I have a Macbook Pro 15inch mid 2010. It gets extremely hot to the point of burning my legs.
The LVDS cable had burnt once about a year ago, I had it replaced and recently it started flickering until suddenly the LCD screen went completely off i checked the cable and it looks burnt again... The weird thing is that the keyboard went off too this time, the CAPS LOCK light doesn´t switch on or off.
I tried connecting a TV through Thunderbolt cable and HDMI and use it in clamshell mode but it doesn´t work.
I tried PRAM reset and all those and nothing changes. I tried connecting an external track pad and it seems to work right (i can only tell by the lights in it) and I tried an external keyboard but it doesn´t work either.
I had been thinking already in replacing the computer so I don´t want to take it to be fixed again, all I want is to be able to use it with my external monitor.
Can someone help me out please to find a solution. I´d be very thankful
