Help! macbook wont boot

hi

my mac crashed =( and i couldnt do anything on screen so i had to manually shut it down, but when i went to boot up nothing happens, just a black screen disc drive wont work, nor will keyboard, please help!

Long shot, but try resetting your PMU and PRAM.

to reset the PMU:

Shut off your laptop, unplug it from the ac adapter, and remove the battery.

Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds

put the battery back in and reconnect the ac adapter, and turn on the system.


If that doesnt work,

To reset the PRAM:

Turn the system off

Press the power to turn the system on,
immediately press and hold Command, Option, P, R

if it works you should hear the startup chime twice.

Hope that helps.

If not, i think a trip to the apple store is in your future.
 
i have tried all of them things and nothing seems to work, it dosent even make the start up noice or makes any noice except the fans

I'm sory but this happened to me! When I sent it in to Apple after a lengthy phone conversation with the Apple Servive Rep, They said it was moisture damage and it is not covered under the Apple extended warentee plan. They wanted over 1,200 bucks to fix it! I ended up getting a new mac but I purchased it at Best Buys because their extended warentee covers water damage. I hope this is not the case for you. If it is, one thing you can do is open it up (if it is not under warentee) of corse remove the battery and plug and see if you have any water damage. Carefully blot it up. Then use a hairdryer. The final thing is if it will not start at all place it in the sun where the heat can possibly reconnect the sotter joints and dry any remaining moisture. This will only work if you didn't short out anything. Again my condolences. Apple will not help you with this if they suspect moisture at all.:( :(

ah f**k i hope not i dont have the money for a repair or to buy a new one, i spent all my money on this damn thing...im not sure it is moisture, its been in doors in the dry for days, and if it is ill be really anoyed if apple wont cover it...anyone else have any ideas?

How are you making out with your MBP? did you take it in? My MBP was only 9 months old when it died. May it RIP:( If you do have to get another one dont pay to get the info off of the HD instead buy a HD cover for under 30$ that way you get your old info and additional HD space. That and an extra battery is all I could get out of my old MBP with moisture damage.
