Hi, so Im running 10.8.5, mail version 6.6.

The first problem I had, was just having run out of hard drive space. After doing a lot of searching, I found that the mail folder was far too big. About 30gb. Gmail mail account. (Means a lot when the hard drive is 120gb)

Anyway, so I went ahead and deleted all of the data, which I didn't need. But then Mail just downloaded it all again. And it keeps doing it no matter how I try to stop it.

I've googled the issue quite a bit, and found many people with similar problems, but no solutions.

I don't want to fill up my HDD with mail again, how can I stop this?

Plus when using IMAP in Gmail start saving email in CUSTOM boxes on the web version of Gmail. Try to keep the Inbox to zero in IMAP if you can help it because in will make the Gmail IMAP work better in Mail.
