so i'm doing the 15 inch 2.4 ghz and need help choosing the harddrive.

1. What harddrive? i will be using the mac for college, playing games on windows, internet, movies, etc. No sound mixing or video editing here. i plan on playing around 6-8 games on my mac.

Well, any of the drives will work for that. The larger the drive, the more space you've got to install Windows on, though you don't necessarily need tons for that.

The 160GB 7200RPM Seagate drive is the fastest. Seemed around 10MB/s faster across the board compared to Seagate's 5400RPM 160GB model (so massively faster, as hard drives go). But even the default drive will run games fine, a faster model will just decrease load times for games and other programs.

There is currently a 6 week wait for 7200 rpm harddrive, if that factors into your decision. The benefits of the 7200 rpm disc are mainly on the loading of large files and applications. So decide on how much that matters to you.

If you're hardcore gamer, you should get the faster hdd, the 160 GB 7200 RPM.

And don't buy the RAM from Apple, it to expensive, buy it from another company ,whitch is cheaper. :D

I was just about wondering the incidence this had. From hands on experience, you think it is that much faster?
Thing is.. I need to config my MBP too, hehe ;)
from hands on experience, the 7200 rpm will be much faster for gaming. this is assuming you'll be playing games while in Windows.
