Background: old iPhone, wish to use as iPod WITH iCloud capabilities. The SIM card in it is disabled as I switched my number between SIM cards. It can activate, but since iMessage activation on iPhones relies on a secret SMS, iMessage will not activate.

On iOS 6, this was solved by disabling "Telephony" (and I think "SMS") on the Capabilities section of Springtomize 2. This removed the phone app, but I could use iMessage and FaceTime.
This feature was removed to stop people accidentally disabling their phone service.

Does anybody know how I could manually achieve the same thing, to enable iMessage on iOS 7 without an active SIM card? I cannot enter a new SIM, as it isn't unlocked and Vodafone isn't being very cooperative since I no longer have an account with them.

Thank you in advance
