I have a MBP and unfortunally the whole HD partition has been converted to NTFS and windows Xp has been installed on it. As much as i love windows i want to try something else. When i stick my new OSX disk in and hold "c" nothing happens, but when i stick a windows disk in or a linux boot , it boots to the disk. Also the Hard drive says its 114 mb Im not sure if the previous owner F"ed something up but how would i resolve the problem?

help me erase windows

If it were me, I'd do a "erase and reinstall" although I'm sure some others will suggest something not quite so extreme ... 
If you want to erase everything and do a clean install of the Mac OS, then:
- Place your Mac OS install DVD in the optical drive.
- Restart the MBP and hold down the OPTION key.
- Upon boot, you will be given the choice of booting from the DVD, Windows partition, or any other boot partition.
- Select the DVD
- When the install DVD starts up, you will have some menu items. Under one (sorry I forget which) will be Disk Utility. Select it.
- Format the HD into whatever you want. Recommend Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
- After this task is done, exit Disk Utilities. You will be taken back to the installation process. Continue to install Mac OS on your MBP.
Note, if you have the original disks that came with the MBP, you can restore to the default setting.

If you are using Bootcamp (I suppose you are) then go into Applications>utilities>Bootcamp, open the app and then click on the option (uninstall windows) Easy Peasy!!
According to the OP, the MBP only has an NTFS partition with Windows XP on it. There is no Mac OS partition.
Don't believe this will work since the Mac OS cannot go into the Windows partition.
To the OP, try this.
- Boot into Windows XP.
- Insert the install DVD.
- Go to Control Panels.
- Select Performance and Maintenance.
- Select Startup Disk.
- You should see your Windows HD partition and Mac OS Install Disk.
- Select Mac OS Install Disk, and click on the RESTART button.

- After this task is done, exit Disk Utilities. You will be taken back to the installation process. Continue to install Mac OS on your MBP.
I think boot camp screwed with the partition table (or you may have) and deleted the EFI partition.
What I think you should do because all other options have failed, is boot the macbook into target disk mode (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583) and have it connected to another mac running OS X. (This Mac HAS to be intel or it WILL NOT work...the PPC macs cannot mount the drive correctly)
Then, open up disk utility, select your drive, and click the partition tab. Under options, select GUID partition table. Then, create a single HFS+ partition. Click the partition button, and your done.
I know it seems like alot of work, but that should fix the problem.
