Hey guys. I've tried pretty much all the chat applications available now but none of them have a feature that I want except AIM surprisingly.

You know how AIM has these buddies called "mobile buddies" where the IMs are forwarded to the person's cellphone when they are offline. Well I kinda find that stupid because half the time people never respond and if you wanna contact someone on their phone just text them.

Anyway all the chat apps either do not differentiate between mobile and online or mix the mobiles in with only a little notifying icon. I prefer to sort by status like the official AIM app which has groupings of users (Online, Idle, Mobile, Away).

Palringo and IM+ (lite) do not have any difference for the mobiles, and Beejive (which I tried) mixes them in with the other available people even when sorting by status.

Any other good app that does this?

Does everyone agree with me that mobile users are useless?

And why does everyone hate the AIM app, its very usable and stable?

It sounds like you like the AIM app, so why not just use it.

because its very thin on other features like staying logged in when the app is closed or having a landscape keyboard so I was just wondering if anyone knew another app that sorted better so i could try it.

I can't say it will do everything you have asked for since I only want to keep track of Online vs. Offline buddies, but take a look at Beejive.

It is one of the most feature complete IM applications available for the iPhone right not. There are also a number of other options including IM+ which might still be on sale for $0.99.
