I just installed iTunes 6.0.2 and I HATE it. You may have noticed that a large section of the bottom of the window is now filled with an ad for the music store. This happens in EVERY playlist. I looked through the preferences file and I can't figure out how to turn it off. Does anyone know how? If not, does anyone have an installer for iTunes 6.0.1 they can send me?

EDIT: ok ok I have calmed down now, maybe this thread will help others like me. There is a new button next to the equalizer button that will turn off the mini store.

I did a shift-command-M (from the menu: Edit->Show/Hide MiniStore) and it went away, and stayed that way after quitting and relaunching iTunes.

You can also click on the first button on the lower right of the iTunes window.

Here's to the Crazy Ones

Yup, noticed this too. I did what Lacero did and I'm going to leave it like that. Don't see much difference other than that though. I don't see a point in the mini store...

ha, thanks for the post! i was just as flustered when i first saw it! if i didnt find the answer here, my next search was going to be iTunes alternatives!!! oh no!!!

Anyone know how to get rid of the Radio option in the "Source" left-hand menu?

Also, if I've applied a specific column format to one of the playlists (or even the overall library view), how do i make this column formatting apply to all my playlists? (Outside of tediously doing it by hand...)

Why does iTunes go against everything that Apple is about?

I find it to be bloatware.

I got one for you to solve.

After you pick or subscribe to a new podcast you are automatically thrown back into you libraries podcast view. And as a result you must go back to the store to continue to browse the selections. Any idea of how to just stay on the musics store podcast page?

Sorry about going off topic

I was about to go mental until I saw the button.

I don't like that they are scanning my library - unless someone corrects me.

hahaha, you guys are treating this like its the end of the world. It was annoying to me too but I took a minute to check out if there was a button to hide this.

That's the spirit. I actually didn't notice it was there before I read about it here at MR. I use Party Shuffle (mini store doesn't show) or an album started from clutter (usually with iTunes in mini player mode)... :)

Anyway, macosxhints has some info...
