Hello,

Quick thread.

I am on the hunt for the name of this menu-bar app so I can understand it's function. Any help?

Thanks in advance.

It does not look familiar at all. I looked through the entire list of Apple icons for the toolbar and saw nothing that matched it. Could it be a third party app that is putting it there? Kind of looks like sidecar or Picture in Picture.

This is surely from a utility or other application that you have installed, and if you go through your Applications and Utilities folders, you should be able to identify what it is. It is not a standard Apple application and must have been something that you installed yourself at some point in time, or it was installed along with some other application or utility that you installed. Is there anything in your System Preferences that identifies it?

When you click on it, or hover over it, you do not get any information or drop down menu? It looks like it is inactive, but you didn't say.

I appreciate all of the help, fellow members! This was indeed a case of identifying this from a screenshot provided to me, and was not my system. So I greatly appreciate the help.

Have you tried using the Accessibility Inspector?

Have you tried to click it and see what opens? Tooltip ought to be there if the developer is worth their salt. Oh, @Phil77354 beat me to it.
I should have mentioned this screenshot was provided to me. If the device was easily accessible to me, I'd have easily been able to identify it myself. But I appreciate the input nonetheless.

Cheers!

It looks very much like an Android icon but it's certainly not a regular Mac icon. It's something from inside an app.
It looks like something for a phone with a folding screen.
