This pop up keeps showing up on at least 2 sites. Any ideas why it’s not being blocked by iOS (I have pop up blocked on)?

Download adblockers like 1Blocker X and enable them in Settings -> Safari

I have used ad blockers, and they may or may not reduce the incidence of those stupid popops (how can anybody prove whether they are effective or not?), but I still get pop-up ads. So don't put too much hope in the various ad blockers to totally stop this problem.

Then I suggest trying another one, or keeping your current one updated, or altering the blocked elements list.

There are several good choices that work quite well. I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a pop up.

Hi. I have been using Crystal on my iPhone ever since content blockers were allowed. After reading this thread i downloaded Adguard and enabled it through settings, and also checked up on the latest reviews for Crystal.

Turns out Crystal hasn't been supported for ages lol

Well, there are a variety of content blockers that have come out and haven't gotten any updates for quite a while, but they still work just fine, basically like they did initially. App updates don't necessarily seem to be something that's always needed for it all to function properly.

I have seen a case once where an iPhone was serving adverts through Safari the whole time. We fixed it by clearing all history and website data in Safari. Somehow, a malicious JS file managed to sneak in and was loaded on many web pages. You might want to give it a shot.

1. Load page with blocker enabled.
2. Disable blocker.
3. Reload page.
4. Compare the two pages.
5. Profit.

I get these all the time, especially if I click on an article on Facebook "Congrats! You've won an Amazon Gift Card" or "Congrats! You've won a $1000 Visa Gift Card"....I do get them when just using Safari, but once in a blue moon. For me they occur more through Facebook.

When it happens I clear my Safari History/Website Data. Stops for a while, then happens again.

I've got the AdBlock one installed and never have an issue with popups or adverts. Even stops adverts on football highlights i watch from a league website where they have bucket loads throughout the video that you are watching.

Did the ad blocker work?

Yes, specifically AdGuard. Installed and the pop up I posted has not returned.

I also believe it has increased my load time for several sites that are ad heavy. It could be placebo.. either way thanks for everyone’s input. Ads never bothered me as long as they did not distract from whatever I was trying to read but now I cannot go back.

Decreased load time! :)

So glad it helped!

If it comes up when you open safari and you can’t get around it, clear safari history in settings. If not, avoid the site that causes it.
